Hyundai-Kia is lauded for its green commercials and sustainable image with electric vehicles (EVs) and net-zero promises. However, 94% of their total sales in 2022 were still fossil fuel vehicles. (1)



A 2022 report revealed that Hyundai-Kia under-reported emissions by as much as 115%, which was the highest among the world's top 9 automakers in relation to the accuracy of their emission disclosure. (2)



Despite a commitment to carbon neutrality by 2045, Hyundai-Kia's supply chain heavily relies on fossil fuels, with renewable energy accounting for less than 1% of their energy consumption in 2022. (3)



To truly be a climate champion, Hyundai-Kia must match its words with action by halting fossil fuel car production and transitioning to renewable energy sources throughout its supply chain.
